Who Is Generous Photography?
My name is Mimi Generous; I am the owner and photographer of Generous Photography. I started taking photos in early 2008 as a creative outlet and turned it into a business in 2009. I attended the University of South Dakota, took photography and art classes throughout college, but ended up getting a Bachelor of Science degree in addiction studies.
I wanted to create a photography company that provided professional quality photos for a generous price. I grew up in a large family, and we could never afford the price tag of professional photography. That is where my passion started.
A little about myself: born in Cape Coral, Florida, and raised in north Minneapolis. I have, have a huge family that is continuing to grow (all adults now). I have lived all over the midwest, MN, IA, SD, and WI, but now reside in MPLS. I am a husky owner, avid hiker, and painter, and I love the outdoors. I have a deep love for my family and nature; I believe that everyone should have the ability to get beautiful photos no matter what their budget. I am very down to earth and go with the flow; I like to get to know my clients when on sessions.
